I hope you don’t get me wrong advocating this Spicy Chai Drinking Chocolate beverage so early into the New Year. The Mayans may not have predicted the end of the world correctly, but they did know a thing or two about chocolate!
The Mayans were the first true chocolate aficionados embracing chocolate for its restorative and mood-enhancing properties.
A little dark chocolate shouldn’t upset anyone’s new year’s health regimens.
In fact, dark chocolate stimulates endorphin production, giving you a feeling of pleasure and is full of antioxidants — apparently 8 times that found in strawberries!
Additionally, dark chocolate contains serotonin which acts as an anti-depressant, most welcoming in the month of January when depression rates run higher than any other months.
Chocolate + turmeric make a wonderful mood-boosting combo, perfect to sip on a rather cold January night. Chai spices will add notes of cardamom and ginger.

The tumeric would warm my heart on a cold winter morning.
I have tried chili in hot chocolate but not turmeric powder. Your cup of spicy chai chocolate looks rich and creamy. mmmm…here’s to chocolate!
